A Snail Without Shell
The film centers around an old couple and their last ray of hope- a hope not of mere survival, but of living in harmony with Mother Nature. Eventually, it becomes a hopeless tale about hope, reinforcing the painful isolation forced by the imperialist world. Deforestation and urbanization are continuously destroying the beautiful harmony with nature and forcing these innocent humans to change their jobs, migrate, and leave their land behind. Through this film, I tried to portray the omnipresent hierarchal power politics towards the indigenous people and the disruptive impact of the colonial system that threatens their sacred bond with nature.
